About Us
NSSP (Network of Sherpa Students and Professionals)
Founded in 2006 as a sub-organization of United Sherpa Association, The Network of Sherpa Students and Professionals (NSSP) is a student and professional volunteer-led organization, dedicated to the educational and professional development of the Sherpa community. NSSP works towards its goal of education and professional development of the Sherpa community through engaging high school students, college students, and professionals in our community.

NSSP (Network of Sherpa Students and Professionals) is a volunteer-led committee under the United Sherpa Association that connects Sherpa students and professionals through cultural engagement, community involvement, and professional development opportunities.
Our Mission
Our mission is to strengthen connections between Sherpa students and professionals while supporting cultural preservation, community participation, and personal development.
What We Do
In 2025-2026, NSSP has organized and supported a variety of initiatives, including:
● Professional engagement opportunities including networking events, free professional headshots, and a podcast series highlighting Sherpa professionals and community leaders
● Cultural engagement programs including Khapse making, participation in our parent organization’s annual workshop and festival-related volunteering
● Youth-focused programming such as graduation recognition for Sherpa students ● Community wellness and outdoor activities such as hikes and 5K runs ● Community service activities such as neighborhood cleanups in partnership with local organizations and elected officials
Through our programs, NSSP continues to build a strong pipeline of engaged, community-driven Sherpa youth and professionals who are connected to their roots and committed to giving back.
