CHOKHOR DUCHEN (DRUKPA TSHE ZHI)

For the peace and happiness of all beings, the flourishing of the Buddha’s teachings, and the long life of Dharma holders, Sherpa Kyidug America – New York warmly invites community members, families, and devotees to observe Chokhor Duchen (Drukpa Tshe Zhi), commemorating the First Turning of the Wheel of Dharma by Lord Buddha Shakyamuni.

KANGYUR RECITATION

As part of this sacred observance, we will also conduct a Kangyur Recitation, the collective reading and recitation of the Kangyur—the sacred collection of Lord Buddha’s teachings translated into Tibetan. This revered practice is believed to purify negative karma, remove obstacles, promote peace and harmony, and generate blessings and merit for all sentient beings.
