The following qualifications will be required for membership:

(a) Must be of Sherpa ancestry.

(b) Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

(c) Must demonstrate respect for Sherpa language, culture, and religion.

(d) Must submit a membership application with the required form, fees, and supporting documents.

(e) To verify Sherpa ancestry, the Executive Committee may require or accept any of the following documents or evidence: birth certificate, family registration certificate, recommendation letter from a recognized Sherpa society or monastery/gumba, or any other reliable proof of Sherpa ancestry. The Executive Committee shall have the final authority to approve or reject any membership application.

Note: The Association shall not discriminate based on caste, color, nationality, religion, sex, age, disability, marital status, gender identity, or immigration status. However, in alignment with the Association’s charitable purpose of preserving Sherpa language, culture, and traditions, membership shall be limited exclusively to individuals of Sherpa ancestry.
